In a move that champions sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, two brand-new electric tricycles (e-trikes) were officially turned over to two drivers/operators of the MASA Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (MASA TODA) on April 16, 2025. The ceremonial turnover, held at SM City Caloocan, Transport Bay Area, marks a meaningful step in the collective effort to modernize local transport and support hardworking members of the community.
The event brought together participants from SM City Caloocan, Cost Plus, Inc., and MASA TODA, showcasing the spirit of collaboration among local businesses and community organizations.
Gracing the event were key representatives from both the public and private sectors. Among them were (from left to right in the official photo) Mr. Rommel Binondo, Head of the Tricycle and Pedicab Regulatory Board of Caloocan, Ms. Gizelle Anne Peña, Managing Partner of Cost Plus, Inc., and Mr. Edwin Legaspi, Vice President of MASA TODA. Also present were SM City Caloocan officials, namely Mr. Earl John Patrizio, Assistant Mall Manager, Ms. Nerissa Abian, Building Admin Officer, Ms. Lei Shinette Gonzales, Marketing OIC, Mr. Cynric Josh Perez, Marketing Officer, and Ms. Ava Katrina Sobrevega, Marketing Officer. Joining them were Mr. Ramon Roxas, Business Development Head of Cost Plus, Inc., and drivers/operators of MASA TODA (at the back).
Their presence underscored the strong collaboration among local government, business partners, and transport groups—all working together to make sustainable mobility a reality.
The e-trikes, designed to be both eco-friendly and cost-efficient, will significantly help the beneficiaries reduce their daily expenses on fuel, while also contributing to a cleaner environment. The selected drivers expressed heartfelt gratitude, vowing to continue serving the community with responsibility and pride.
This initiative reflects a shared vision for a greener future and highlights the power of partnerships in bringing positive change to grassroots transportation.
